An industrial electrical partner, not just a contractor
BevTech can partner with you for all your electrical site upgrades, machine installs and commissioning, production fault finding and repairs. Our team supports you around the clock for electrical installations, maintenance day repairs, preventative maintenance, proactive electrical audits of equipment and site, general electrical maintenance and annual shutdown support.
Food and beverage plants are a specialist environment. Equipment runs at high speed, lines run across multiple shifts, washdown and hygiene rules shape how work is done, and every hour of downtime costs product and labour. Our people are highly skilled and specialised in this industry, and our team has worked with Coca Cola Amatil, Lion, CUB, FOODMACH, Agito and Graphic Packaging.
Safety is our highest priority. Every job is planned so that the finished equipment is safe to operate, documented properly and easy for your own maintenance team to support afterwards.
Equipment our electricians work on

Our electrical services
Industrial electrical services for manufacturing plants
One team for the whole electrical scope, from the first drawing to the last test sheet.
Electrical installations
New machine power, cable tray and cabling, switchboard and MCC modifications, and plant extensions, installed to AS/NZS 3000 and your site standards.
Machine installs and commissioning
Electrical installation, testing and commissioning of new and relocated machines, working alongside OEM technicians and your production team through start up.
Production fault finding and repairs
Fast, methodical diagnosis of electrical and control faults during production, with repairs made properly rather than bypassed to get through the shift.
Machine safety system upgrades
Guarding interlocks, light curtains, safety relays and emergency stop circuits upgraded to current standards, backed by our TÜV certified functional safety engineers.
Electrical design and drafting
Full electrical design drawings for new work, and as-built updates to existing drawings so your records match what is installed.
Electrical site maintenance
Preventative maintenance, maintenance day repairs and general electrical upkeep, planned around your production schedule.
Proactive electrical audits
Condition audits of equipment and site that find problems before they cause downtime, with a prioritised list of corrective actions.
Annual shutdown support
Electrical scope planning and crews for annual shutdowns, when the big jobs can finally be done without stopping production.
Project planning and management
Scoping, scheduling, coordination with other trades and clear reporting, so electrical work lands on time and within the shutdown window.
Safety first
Machine safety you can document and defend
When a machine is installed, modified or moved, the question is not only whether it runs, but whether it is safe and whether you can prove it. BevTech provides full design drawings, machine operational risk assessments and corrective actions that support the safe operation of your equipment.
- Machine operational risk assessments that identify hazards across normal running, cleaning, changeover and maintenance.
- Corrective actions that are practical to install and will not be bypassed by operators under production pressure.
- Functional safety verification by TÜV certified engineers for safety functions, interlocks and emergency stops.
- Clear documentation, including updated drawings and test records, for your maintenance team and auditors.
Electrical and automation
When the fault is in the logic, not the wiring
Plenty of line stoppages that look electrical turn out to be a control problem: a PLC sequence waiting on a signal, a drive parameter lost after a power dip, or an HMI alarm that points in the wrong direction. Because our industrial electricians work side by side with our Allen Bradley and Siemens automation engineers, the right skill set is only a phone call away.
For PLC programming, HMIs, robotics and line improvements, see our industrial automation services.
Mechanical backup
And when it turns out to be mechanical
BevTech is also a mechanical engineering business with an in house machine shop in Richlands. If an electrical fault leads back to a seized bearing, a worn cam or a broken bracket, our fitters and machinists can diagnose, make and replace the part. See our mechanical and engineering services.
How we work
What to expect when you call BevTech
Whether it is a breakdown on the night shift or a planned upgrade months away, our process is built around your production.
- Understand the problem. We ask about the equipment, the symptoms or scope, the production impact and your site rules.
- Plan the work safely. Isolations, permits, risk assessments and materials are sorted before tools come out.
- Do the job properly. Repairs and installs are completed to standard, tested and verified, not left as temporary fixes.
- Document and hand over. Updated drawings, test results and clear notes for your maintenance team.
- Follow up. We recommend corrective actions so the same fault does not stop the line again.
Where we work
Industrial electricians across Brisbane and South East Queensland
Our workshop is at 25 Silvio St, Richlands, in Brisbane’s south west, close to the Ipswich, Logan and Gateway motorways. That puts most of the region’s food, beverage and FMCG manufacturing within easy reach for breakdowns and planned work alike. We regularly work across:
Eagle Farm, Pinkenba, Hemmant, Murarrie, Northgate, Rocklea, Acacia Ridge, Darra, Wacol, Carole Park, Richlands, Berrinba, Crestmead, Yatala, Ipswich and Logan.
If your plant is further afield in Queensland, talk to us. Planned work such as shutdowns, installs and upgrades can often be arranged anywhere in the state.
FAQs
Industrial electrician questions
What is the difference between an electrician and an industrial electrician?
Both hold the same Queensland electrical licence. An industrial electrician specialises in factories and plants: three phase power, motor control centres, variable speed drives, PLCs, sensors, safety circuits and machinery. A general electrician usually works in homes and commercial buildings. On a production line, most breakdowns involve automation and machinery rather than lighting or power points, so industrial experience is what gets the line running again.
Do you offer 24/7 breakdown support?
Yes. Our electrical team provides shift coverage and breakdown support 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so production lines see as little electrical downtime as possible. If you need an electrician on your roster rather than on call, see our electrical labour hire service.
Can you supply design drawings for machine and switchboard changes?
Yes. We produce full electrical design drawings for new installations, machine modifications and upgrades, and we update existing drawings so your records match what is actually installed. Accurate drawings save hours during every future breakdown.
What is included in an electrical audit?
A proactive electrical audit looks at your equipment and site before something fails. It typically covers the condition of switchboards and motor control centres, terminations, cabling, drives, safety circuits and guarding interlocks, and it ends with a prioritised list of corrective actions you can plan into maintenance days or shutdown.
Can you help with our annual shutdown?
Yes. Annual shutdowns are where a lot of our electrical work happens: planned maintenance, installs, upgrades and testing that cannot be done while the line runs. We can plan the electrical scope with you and supply the crew to deliver it. Our free shutdown planning checklist is a good place to start.
Do you only work in beverage plants?
Beverage manufacturing is where our experience runs deepest, but we work across food and FMCG manufacturing more broadly. If your plant runs fillers, conveyors, packaging machines, refrigeration or process equipment, our industrial electricians will be at home on it.
Are you an industrial electrician?
We are always keen to hear from licensed industrial electricians with manufacturing, FMCG or food and beverage experience. See current opportunities at BevTech.
