Recent work for beverage manufacturers
Can inverter blocks
Plastic inverter blocks rotate bottles, cans and jars by moving them through a static tunnel that twists along its length. They are compact, reliable and a simple replacement for a twisted steel race, and they can be made for quick changeovers that minimise production downtime. BevTech can provide a turnkey solution for container movement to assist with coding, rinsing and drying, sterilisation and pack preparation.
Refrigeration PLC installation
As part of a customer’s ongoing expansion, we were asked to implement an automated control system to manage the site’s two glycol refrigeration units.
The system monitors temperature and pressure and calls for the units and their pumps to deliver cooling to the large beer tanks. It uses a 1500 series Siemens PLC, a Siemens touch screen HMI, ABB variable speed drives and PID loops to control the flow. This is a critical process, because a loss of cooling would take the beer temperature out of spec.
Hot water rinse
To meet a customer’s QA requirements, we implemented a hot water rinse as part of the CIP cleaning process for their can seamer. The work included a Siemens 1200 series PLC, a Siemens HMI, temperature sensors, flow sensors and other control gear. The process can be started and stopped from the HMI, with adjustable parameters and diagnostics.
